Associate Professor
Educational work Associate Professor Sergieieva K.L. currently teaches disciplines "Algorithms and data structures", "Information technology in management", "Modern information and communication technologies", "Informational support of legal activity", and "Management of business processes of IT enterprises". She has experience in teaching disciplines such as "Modeling of environmental, economic and social processes", "Data Mining", "Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics", "Image Processing and Pattern Recognition", "Geostatistics", "Computer Support for Decision Making", "Fundamentals of Geoinformation Systems and Technologies", "Spatial analysis and modeling in geoinformation technologies" etc. Scientific activity The main areas of scientific activity are information technologies of Earth remote sensing data analysis, monitoring of sustainable development indicators, Data Mining. In particular, in her dissertation research Sergieieva K.L. developed an information technology and a system for analyzing the slagheap thermal state using satellite imagery. She participated in 6 research projects, including grant funded by U.S. Civilian Research and Development Foundation (CRDF). She is the author of more than 60 scientific and methodological publications. Other activity Associate Professor Sergieieva K.L. participated in international scientific and educational programs, including the Dubrovnik International School of Mining ESEE Mining School (lecturer), DOCSUMSquare EIT RawMaterials PhD Summer School on Circular Economy (co-coacher), International cultural exchange programs organized AGH University of Science and Technology, Krakow, Poland (students’ group leader), etc. During postgraduate studies, she participated in a one-year internship at the Wroclaw University of Technology as part of the College of Eastern Europe scholarship program (Wroclaw, Poland). She has certificates of achievement and professional development awarded by European Space Agency, the TVIS company (Ukraine), the Teacher Training Centre of the "Polish Community" Association, the Council of Young Scientists at Dnipro City Council, the International Society for Engineering Education and others. Passed the professional development training at the Ukrainian State Chemical Technology University (Department of Computer Engineering and Applied Mathematics, certificate of the internship results № 33-36-22 from 03.05.2018). She is an independent reviewer of the international publishing house MDPI (Sustainability, Remote Sensing journals).
Sergieieva K.L. in cooperation with Foreign Company EOS Ukraine is a participant in the Horizon 2020 project "Earth observation and Earth GNSS data acquisition and processing platform for safe, sustainable and cost-efficient mining operations" (Grant agreement ID: 869398).
Biography Sergieieva K.L. graduated with honors from the National Mining University (NMU) in 2007 and received the M.S. degree in Computer Ecological and Economic Monitoring. She defended her thesis in “Information technology of slagheaps thermal state analysis using satellite imagery” in 2014 and received her Ph.D. degree Information Technologies. In 2018 - academic title of Docent (equivalent to Associate Professor) of the GeoInformation Systems Department. Since 2007, she has been working as an assistant, and since 2015 - as an assistant professor at the Department of Information Technology and Computer Engineering (GeoInformation Systems Department). In 2007-2016 she conducted research activities as junior researcher, researcher and senior researcher in the framework of working on state budget research projects.
