Educational work

Professor Nikulin S.L. teaches courses in Computer Science and Programming, Object-Oriented Programming, Cartography, Web-Cartography, Geological Interpretation of Earth Remote Sensing Materials, and Aerospace Image Processing and Decoding. Has training manuals and methodological developments in geoinformatics, algorithmization, programming.

Certification training: at the Ukrainian State Chemical and Technological University at the Department of Computer Engineering and Applied Mathematics (certificate of the results of the internship № 33-36-22 from 03.05.2018).

The total teaching experience is 24 years.

    Research activities

The main area of ​​scientific activity is computer analysis of spatial data. Under the guidance of prof. Nikulin S.L. Applicants, Masters and Specialists perform work in the following areas:

• development of methods and techniques for computer analysis of spatial data in solving geological and geo-environmental problems;
• development of RAPID geoinformation software;
• solving problems of prediction of mineral deposits with the help of GIS technologies;
• the use of space imagery in solving subsoil and environmental problems.

He has published about 100 scientific works, of which more than 30 are in foreign editions.

He has participated in numerous international conferences and symposia.

He is a member of the specialized scientific council D 26.001.42 at Taras Shevchenko's National University of Kyiv.

    Biography

In 1993 Nikulin S.L. graduated from the Dnepropetrovsk Mining Institute with a degree in Geophysical Methods of Prospecting and Exploration and received "Mining engineer-geophysicist" qualification.

In 2002 he received candidate's (PhD) degree in geology by the specialty 04.00.22 - geophysics with thesis theme "Computational modeling of complex ore deposits in the complex of geological and geophysical data".

In 2006 he was awarded the rank of associate professor in the department of geoinformation systems.

In 2011 he completed his doctorate, and in 2013 he 2002 he received Doctor of Geological Science degree by the specialty 04.00.05 "Geological informatics thesis named "Geoinformation technology for solving forecasting problems by using the complex of geological, geophysical and space data" (specialized scientific council D 26.001.42 Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv).

Since September 24, 2014 he holds the position of Professor of the Department of Information Technology and Computer Engineering (former Geoinformation Systems dept.) of NTU "Dnipro Polytechnics".
